In some cases, a tree has shallow lateral roots and it is prefered to pull the whole tree out of there. This prevents or delays regrowth. The soil is disturbed but there should be immediately sown grass where the disturbance occurred. The Scanwood tree uprooter can easily be attached to a tractor and the operator can then simply enter the forest (there is sufficient protection for him), and pull the tree out in two simple movements. The extracted tree can then be placed in a strategic position from which the thicker stem can be cut for firewood.
